Fall Portrait Session at the Omaha Douglas County Courthouse

Photos taken in Omaha, NE

On October 17, 2025, I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely portrait session at the Douglas County Courthouse in downtown Omaha. The front courtyard, with its beautiful architecture and timeless stone details, created an elegant backdrop for this fall shoot.

The session featured a woman and her two dogs, who brought so much personality and warmth to every frame. The crisp October air and soft, golden light made for perfect conditions—highlighting the changing leaves and adding a natural glow to the images.

What I enjoyed most about this shoot was the easy connection between the three of them. The dogs were full of energy and curiosity, but between playful moments we captured some wonderfully calm, affectionate portraits that truly reflected their bond.

The Douglas County Courthouse’s historic setting paired beautifully with the natural textures of the season, making this session both classic and full of life. It was a great reminder of how meaningful it can be to include pets in portraits—they bring an authenticity and joy that’s impossible to stage.
